A Photography Toolbox

Guest writer, Kayla Trulsen, is a summer intern for KP Creates. In May of 2015, she will be graduating from North Central University with a BA in Communication Arts.

Hello once again, friends. This summer, I've been doing a lot of research for KP Creates, and I thought it would be a good idea to collect the best of the photography blogs I found during that research. These are my favorites that I would like to share with you. Consider this page a little toolbox for your photography needs.

First off, here's a fun photography blog for everyone to check out. Photography Blogger is a great place to find fun and creative photos and articles about all kinds of topics. They also have some neat tips and tricks for photographers. For example, in this article, the editors put together a list of careers in photography for people who don't want to start their own business.

Second, Digital Photography School is a blog that covers everything from equipment to lessons in photography. This is a good place to start out if you are new to photography or even if you are a photography veteran. You can always get better at your craft by learning from others. In this article, the editors give a refresher on how the three elements of the exposure triangle work together to create a creative and/or correct exposure.

Speaking of giving lessons in photography, the third photography blog I suggest checking out is The Cooperative of Photography (COOPH). I have enjoyed their creative articles and little tidbits of information that they share regularly. For instance, this article give some do-it-yourself tips for capturing creative photos using household objects.

The last photography blog I would suggest checking out is Eric Kim Photography. Eric Kim is a street photographer, so his blog is focused solely on street photography. He shares some great insight into his craft. If you're interested in this area, check out his blog. Here is just one example of Eric Kim's knowledgeable articles where he shares 5 tips for busy street photographers.

Before I close the subject of great blogs, I do want to add in this travel blog. I happened to stumble upon this blog one day, and hey, photography and travel do go hand-in-hand, after all. Solo Traveler has great tips for people who prefer to travel alone. Here are two great, succinct articles that the editors put together for travel safety and the art of packing light for travel. Be sure to explore this blog more if you are interested in any kind of travel, not just solo travel. They have many helpful articles.

If you have any blogs, articles or ideas to add, give us a shout out @kpcreates on all the things.

Keep Creating,

Kayla
